(Part 19 of 33)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>0205 What does Zizek do?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He investigates&nbsp;<em>the contiguity between a noumenon [and] its phenomena,<\/em>&nbsp;as if it might be a feature and not a bug.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He gives examples of Bell&#8217;s theorem.&nbsp;&nbsp;He talks about anxiety, when it comes to relying only on&nbsp;<em>phenomena<\/em>.&nbsp;&nbsp;What about&nbsp;<em>the noumenon, the thing itself?<\/em>&nbsp;&nbsp;Oh, I can take the model, framed within the disciplinary languages of quantum mechanics, and account for the data,&nbsp;<em>the observable and measurable features of the phenomena<\/em>&nbsp;<em>of really tiny things<\/em>.&nbsp;&nbsp;But, I have to take a lot of measurements, because these things are really small.&nbsp;&nbsp;Plus, I cannot predict the behavior of any single small particle, because they are all identical as far as the measurement apparatus is concerned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a fashion, scientists transcend the&nbsp;<em>ontological thing itself<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Scientist prefer to replace&nbsp;<em>the noumenon<\/em>&nbsp;with&nbsp;<em>what the noumenon must be, according to their models<\/em>.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Then, the model (standing in the place of the noumenon) [can be objectified as] its phenomena.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>0206 Zizek considers space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Zizek ponders time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But, these excursions only bring the author to admit that space and time may well be located on the content-level, along with&nbsp;<em>what it is<sub>3a<\/sub><\/em>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<em>the potential of &#8216;the thing itself&#8217;<sub>1a<\/sub><\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You know, that is location with the &#8220;Please disregard&#8230;&#8221; sign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Zizek writes something like this.&nbsp;&nbsp;Science?&nbsp;&nbsp;How crazy is science?&nbsp;&nbsp;Science pushes&nbsp;<em>symbolizing the real with formulas that don&#8217;t make sense<\/em>&nbsp;to the point where we substitute our&nbsp;<em>own encounters with the thing itself&nbsp;<\/em>with&nbsp;<em>what we imagine that our symbol-laden formulas are telling us what the noumenon must be<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>0207 I suspect that is&nbsp;<em>why<\/em>&nbsp;Zizek is paid the big bucks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He says it so much better than me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lacan was also paid well.&nbsp;&nbsp;<em>This fact<\/em>&nbsp;pissed off&nbsp;<em>competing psychoanalysts<\/em>.&nbsp;&nbsp;Lacan did not regard their urinations when he coined the French term, &#8220;<em>achoses<\/em>&#8220;.&nbsp;&nbsp;<em>Achoses<\/em>&nbsp;gets transliterated into&nbsp;<em>no-things<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For, example, a superposition of states\/waves<sub>2a<\/sub>&nbsp;is an&nbsp;<em>achose<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Decades later, Zizek nicely ties the ribbon by noting that the &#8220;<em>a<\/em>&#8221; of&nbsp;<em>achose<\/em>&nbsp;is the&nbsp;<em>a<\/em>&nbsp;of&nbsp;<em>objet a,&nbsp;<\/em>which I have already encountered as the actuality<sub>2x<\/sub>&nbsp;that emerges from (and situates) jouissance<sub>1x<\/sub>, as the potential of &#8216;truth and synthesis&#8217;<sub>1x<\/sub>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Or, is it the possibility of &#8216;a synthetic truth&#8217;<sub>1x<\/sub>?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>0208 How about the following?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What if data<sub>1c<\/sub>&nbsp;are syntheses<sub>1c<\/sub>&nbsp;of the truth<sub>1c<\/sub>&nbsp;of measurements<sub>2b<\/sub>?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then I can use a Lacanian&#8230; um&#8230; a Peircean re-articulation of a Lacanian schema&#8230; to boldly rip the banner of &#8220;Please disregard&#8230;&#8221; from the imaginary noumenon level and reveal the fully exposed&nbsp;<em>achose<sub>2a<\/sub><\/em>, as&nbsp;<em>what the model says that the thing itself must be.<\/em>&nbsp;&nbsp;Oh&#8230; what?&#8230;&nbsp;<em>a particle composed of superimposed waves<sub>2a<\/sub>?<\/em>&#8230; that is not it<sub>2a<\/sub>, is it<sub>2c<\/sub>?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>0209 Here is a picture of the three-level interscope.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Slide064.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Slide064.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-9459\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Slide064.png 600w, https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Slide064-300x200.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>0210 Well, it<sub>2a<\/sub>&nbsp;may not be&nbsp;<em>the noumenon<sub>1a<\/sub>,<\/em>&nbsp;but it<sub>2a<\/sub>&nbsp;is objectified by um&#8230;&nbsp;<em>its phenomena<sub>1b<\/sub><\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the content or imaginary or noumenon level,&nbsp;<em>the normal context of what it is<sub>3a<\/sub><\/em>&nbsp;brings&nbsp;<em>the thing that the model says it is<sub>2a<\/sub><\/em>&nbsp;(that is,&nbsp;<em>an achose<sub>2a<\/sub>)<\/em>&nbsp;into relation with&nbsp;<em>the possibility of &#8216;the thing itself&#8217;<sub>1a<\/sub><\/em>.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Or, should I say, &#8220;<em>the possibility that it<sub>2a<\/sub>&nbsp;can be the thing itself<sub>1a<\/sub>,<\/em>&nbsp;which it<sub>2a<\/sub>&nbsp;obviously is not, because it<sub>2a<\/sub>&nbsp;is&nbsp;<em>what scientists say it<sub>2a<\/sub>&nbsp;must be&#8221;?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the situation or real or phenomenon level,&nbsp;<em>the normal context of a measurement apparatus<sub>3a<\/sub><\/em>&nbsp;brings&nbsp;<em>the actuality of the dyad<sub>2b<\/sub>,<\/em>&nbsp;{the collapse of states\/waves [yields] a measurement}<sub>2b<\/sub>, into relation with&nbsp;<em>the possibility of &#8216;phenomena from what is of the Positivist&#8217;s judgment&#8217;<sub>1b<\/sub><\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the perspective or symbolic or model level,&nbsp;<em>the empirio-schematic judgment<\/em>&nbsp;more or less unfolds.&nbsp;&nbsp;<em>The disciplinary language of quantum mechanics<sub>3c<\/sub><\/em>&nbsp;brings&nbsp;<em>the actuality of the dyad<sub>2c<\/sub>,&nbsp;<\/em>{acquired data [fits into] mechanical or mathematical model}<sub>2c<\/sub>, into relation with&nbsp;<em>the possibility of &#8216;data&#8217;<sub>1c<\/sub>,<\/em>&nbsp;which is obviously&nbsp;<em>a mask for jouissance<sub>1c<\/sub><\/em>designated as&nbsp;<em>the potential of &#8216;a synthetic truth&#8217;<sub>1c<\/sub>.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>0211 After all, doesn&#8217;t &#8220;data<sub>2c<\/sub>&#8221;
