(Part 25 of 25)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>0211 This examination adds value to Ross&#8217;s project in five ways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>First, it introduces a history that encompasses the modern conundrum presented in this text.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hugh Ross and&nbsp;<em>the Reasons To Believe Team<\/em>&nbsp;are actors in&nbsp;<em>a theodrama that is at least 800 years old.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Plus,&nbsp;<em>that theodrama<\/em>&nbsp;is about to undergo&nbsp;<em>a pivot<\/em>&nbsp;that is captured in&nbsp;<em>the following figure<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Slide60.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Slide60.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-9347\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Slide60.png 600w, https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Slide60-300x200.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>0212 Yes,&nbsp;<em>the redemption<sub>2c<\/sub>&nbsp;offered by the party that exalts grace<sub>3c<\/sub>&nbsp;over nature<sub>3c<\/sub><\/em>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<em>the protocols<sub>2c<\/sub>&nbsp;offered by the party that exalts nature<sub>3c<\/sub>&nbsp;over grace<sub>3c<\/sub>,<\/em>&nbsp;are now entangled because, on the content level,&nbsp;<em>the Creation Story<\/em>&nbsp;is&nbsp;<em>a sign of the evolutionary record<\/em>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<em>the Primeval History<\/em>&nbsp;is&nbsp;<em>an insider&#8217;s view of the start of our current Lebenswelt<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>0212 Second, this examination offers a semiotic way to view&nbsp;<em>what Ross is trying to articulate<\/em>.&nbsp;&nbsp;Theologians should be interested in sign-relations.&nbsp;&nbsp;Scientists take sign-relations for granted.&nbsp;&nbsp;Ross&#8217;s book is titled as if a scientific defense will rescue Biblical inerrancy.&nbsp;&nbsp;This makes no sense unless its taken from a semiotic point of view.&nbsp;&nbsp;Inerrancy draws the Bible, especially Genesis 1-11, into hitherto unimagined triadic relations with scientific inquiry.&nbsp;&nbsp;The empirio-schematics of&nbsp;<em>artistic concordism<\/em>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<em>the first singularity<\/em>&nbsp;are variations of&nbsp;<em>what ought to be<\/em>&nbsp;for the Positivist&#8217;s judgment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When, you think about it, signs tend to share certain characteristics with the term, &#8220;inerrancy&#8221;.&nbsp;&nbsp;Every sign-vehicle stands for its sign-object in regards to its sign-interpretant.&nbsp;&nbsp;Even if the interpretant is camouflage, the sign-relation purports to be flawless and honest in its own way.&nbsp;&nbsp;Indeed, all signs are &#8220;inerrant&#8221; in the eyes of God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>0213 Third, this examination offers&nbsp;<em>a way of appreciating how Ross&#8217;s efforts aesthetically derive from the Positivist&#8217;s and the empirio-schematic judgments<\/em>.&nbsp;&nbsp;Indeed,&nbsp;<em>Ross&#8217;s project<\/em>&nbsp;towers head and shoulder above&nbsp;<em>other projects in the Venn diagram of science and religion<\/em>&nbsp;because&nbsp;<em>his aesthetics<\/em>&nbsp;are one step away from&nbsp;<em>the ways that scientists operate<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>0214 Fourth, this examination offers&nbsp;<em>a slightly different version of concordism<\/em>&nbsp;than Ross.&nbsp;&nbsp;Mah&#8217;s artistic version may assist Ross&#8217;s moderate version in future research.&nbsp;&nbsp;In particular, I pray for&nbsp;<em>a science book on the Earth&#8217;s evolutionary history<\/em>&nbsp;to accompany&nbsp;<em>Exercises in Artistic Concordism<\/em>.&nbsp;&nbsp;Wouldn&#8217;t that be fantastic?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fifth, this examination offers a wonderful endpoint, in the form of&nbsp;<em>a label<\/em>&nbsp;for&nbsp;<em>the single actuality implied by the intersection of redemption<sub>2c<\/sub>&nbsp;and protocols<sub>2c<\/sub><\/em>.&nbsp;&nbsp;<em>The early scholastics<\/em>&nbsp;knew&nbsp;<em>this label<\/em>&nbsp;well.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;And now, perhaps, the following dyad will be born again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Slide61.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Slide61.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-9348\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Slide61.png 600w, https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Slide61-300x200.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>0215 My thanks to Hugh Ross and this team at Reasons To Believe for publishing a book worthy of examination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>0211 This examination adds value to Ross&#8217;s project in five ways.
