{"id":9119,"date":"2025-05-06T08:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-05-06T08:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/?p=9119"},"modified":"2024-12-16T21:50:42","modified_gmt":"2024-12-16T21:50:42","slug":"category-based-diagrams-assist-in-studying-how-constructivism-works-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/?p=9119","title":{"rendered":"Looking at Alexander Kravchenko&#8217;s chapter (2024) &#8220;A Constructivist Approach&#8230;&#8221; (Part 6 of 6)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>1049 Or, should I say?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SO<sub>i<\/sub>&nbsp;is what&nbsp;<em>a disinterested observer would objectify if he were actually on the suprasubjective level, which he obviously claims to be.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, where is the language game?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Is it in our brains or in our minds?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In section 8.4, the author raises a rather frightening option.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>The agent<sub>3<\/sub><\/em>&nbsp;may be&nbsp;<em>the human nervous system<sub>3<\/sub><\/em>&nbsp;rather than&nbsp;<em>the human person<sub>3<\/sub><\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Does&nbsp;<em>the potential of &#8216;final causality&#8217;<sub>1<\/sub><\/em>&nbsp;implicate&nbsp;<em>my brain<sub>1<\/sub><\/em>&nbsp;or&nbsp;<em>my mind<sub>1<\/sub>?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1050 Oh my, does my&nbsp;<em>own brain<sub>3<\/sub><\/em>&nbsp;bring forth&nbsp;<em>the actuality of semiotic agency<sub>2<\/sub><\/em>&nbsp;with&nbsp;<em>the potential of &#8216;a final causality, where meaning and message bring forth my mind in an entanglement of the suprasubjective and the subjective<\/em>&nbsp;(very similar to language and also very similar to the idea that both my Innerwelt and my Umwelt are Outerwelt to my nervous system)&#8217;<sub>1<\/sub>?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>How about Daisy&#8217;s mind?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Or the duck&#8217;s?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1051 Here is a picture of&nbsp;<em>the semiotic three-level interscope,<\/em>&nbsp;with&nbsp;<em>descriptive dyads<\/em>&nbsp;<em>for the perspective and content-level actualities<\/em>&nbsp;displayed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Slide292.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Slide292.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-9120\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Slide292.png 600w, https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Slide292-300x200.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The colors indicate&nbsp;<em>complementary pairs<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To me,&nbsp;<em>these pairs<\/em>&nbsp;look like&nbsp;<em>human adaptations into the niche of triadic relations<\/em>.&nbsp;&nbsp;<em>The human niche<\/em>&nbsp;includes&nbsp;<em>the potentials of interscopes and sign-relations<\/em>.&nbsp;&nbsp;<em>The pairs<\/em>&nbsp;link&nbsp;<em>dyadic actualities on the perspective level and the content level of a three-level interscope<\/em>.&nbsp;&nbsp;<em>These actualities<\/em>&nbsp;contain&nbsp;<em>contiguities that bridge the interventional sign-relation and semiotic agency<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1051 If [message] goes with&nbsp;<em>&#8220;mind&#8221;<\/em>&nbsp;and if [meaning] goes with&nbsp;<em>the contiguity between two real elements, a goal<sub>2c<\/sub>&nbsp;and its expression as a real event<sub>2c<\/sub><\/em>, I may ask, &#8220;Are &#8216;meaning&#8217; and &#8216;mind&#8217; brought forth by a&#8230; gasp&#8230; brain?&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What about &#8220;language&#8221;?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Or, are&nbsp;<em>mind and meaning<\/em>&nbsp;organic to&nbsp;<em>the reality that the three-level interscope also contains three sign-relations<\/em>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<em>the fact that the interventional sign-relation bridges to semiotic agency through the contiguities of [meaning] and [message]?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These are good questions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1052 Sometimes, it is good to conclude an examination with a few of good questions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My thanks to the author of this chapter, fully titled, &#8220;The Constructivist Approach to Meanings in the Universe&#8221;.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>1049 Or, should I say?
