reside &#8220;out there&#8221; (as the interventional sign-vehicle (SV<sub>i<\/sub>) expresses an agent&#8217;s goal<sub>2c<\/sub>&nbsp;in action) as well as &#8220;in here&#8221; (as the goal<sub>2c<\/sub>&nbsp;itself (SO<sub>e<\/sub>)).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1022 Dare I continue?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The author calls the SO<sub>e<\/sub>&nbsp;&#8220;objective&#8221; and the SV<sub>i<\/sub>&nbsp;&#8220;objective in parentheses&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this terminology, the goal<sub>2c<\/sub>&nbsp;(SO<sub>e<\/sub>) is &#8220;objective&#8221; and its expression<sub>2c<\/sub>&nbsp;(SV<sub>i<\/sub>) is &#8220;objective in parenthesis&#8221; because&#8230; well&#8230; any intervention can go wrong (so, it is better to put the objective in parenthesis).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1023&nbsp;<em>A rewarding feature of this modern nomenclature<\/em>&nbsp;is that it allows&nbsp;<em>a clean break<\/em>&nbsp;between&nbsp;<em>semiotic agency<\/em>&nbsp;(the Innerwelt aspect) and&nbsp;<em>the interventional sign-relation<\/em>&nbsp;(the Umwelt and Lebenswelt aspect).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here is a picture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Slide284.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Slide284.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-9106\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Slide284.png 600w, https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Slide284-300x200.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>For the contiguities, [p] is [presence], [mn] is [meaning] and [mg] is [message].<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1024 A clean break makes intellectual labors simpler when [message] is [inter] and more complicated when [message] is [infold].<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When I speak to myself, I labor as semiotic agency produces a speech-act that serves as an intervention which activates my&#8230; um&#8230; semiotic agency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Is the [message] [inter] or [infold]?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Does it have to be one or the other?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1025 The medieval scholastics come up with terms that are discussed in&nbsp;<em>Looking at John Deely&#8217;s Book (2010) &#8220;Semiotic Agency&#8221;<\/em>&nbsp;(appearing in Razie Mah&#8217;s blog for October, 2023).&nbsp;&nbsp;The terms pertain to the levels of&nbsp;<em>the scholastic interscope for how humans think<\/em>.&nbsp;&nbsp;The term, &#8220;subjective&#8221;, labels the content level, where SV<sub>s<\/sub>&nbsp;resides.&nbsp;&nbsp;The term, &#8220;objective&#8221;, labels the situation level, where SO<sub>s<\/sub>&nbsp;is located.&nbsp;&nbsp;The term, &#8220;intersubjective&#8221; labels the situation level, where SV<sub>e<\/sub>&nbsp;is located.&nbsp;&nbsp;The term, &#8220;suprasubjective&#8221;, labels the perspective level, where SO<sub>e<\/sub>&nbsp;is located.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1026 Here is a picture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Slide285.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Slide285.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-9107\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Slide285.png 600w, https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Slide285-300x200.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>1027 This implies that&nbsp;<em>SO<sub>e<\/sub>&nbsp;[meaning] SV<sub>i<\/sub><\/em>&nbsp;is, for scholastics, &#8220;suprasubjective&#8217; (that is, &#8220;subjective from a divine perspective&#8221;) and, for modern academics, the locus of both &#8220;objective&#8221; and &#8220;objective in parenthesis&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In short,&nbsp;<em>the biosemiotic structure of suprasubjectivity<\/em>&nbsp;contains both&nbsp;<em>objective goal<sub>2c<\/sub><\/em>&nbsp;(SO<sub>e<\/sub>) and&nbsp;<em>its (objective) expression in the moment<\/em>&nbsp;(SV<sub>i<\/sub>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1027 As if to demonstrate the delicacy of this modern distinction, the author offers the example of spoken language as the arbitrary relation between two systems of differences,&nbsp;<em>parole<\/em>&nbsp;(speech in act) and&nbsp;<em>langue<\/em>&nbsp;(speech decoded).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1028 Can the reader guess how&nbsp;<em>these two systems of differences<\/em>&nbsp;fit into the above diagram?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here is what I figure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Slide286.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Slide286.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-9108\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Slide286.png 600w, https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Slide286-300x200.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>1029&nbsp;<em>The information<sub>2b<\/sub>&nbsp;of semiotic agency<\/em>&nbsp;is within the agent, even though it<sub>2b<\/sub>&nbsp;concerns&nbsp;<em>what<sub>2a<\/sub>&nbsp;&nbsp;apparently is located without.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For this reason, I may playfully modify information<sub>2b<\/sub>&nbsp;into -formation<sub>2b<\/sub>&nbsp;(SO<sub>s<\/sub>) [presence] in-<sub>2b<\/sub>&nbsp;(SV<sub>e<\/sub>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If the goal<sub>2c<\/sub>&nbsp;is to say &#8216;something&#8217;, then SV<sub>i<\/sub>&nbsp;is&nbsp;<em>parole,<\/em>&nbsp;a speech act.&nbsp;&nbsp;The&nbsp;<em>parole<\/em>&nbsp;(SV<sub>i<\/sub>) stands for&nbsp;<em>an intention<sub>2a<\/sub><\/em>&nbsp;(SO<sub>i<\/sub>) in regards to&nbsp;<em>what is happening<sub>3a<\/sub><\/em>&nbsp;operating on&nbsp;<em>the potential of &#8216;something&#8217; happening<sub>1a<\/sub><\/em>&nbsp;(SI<sub>i<\/sub>).&nbsp;&nbsp;Of course, this intention<sub>2a<\/sub>(SO<sub>i<\/sub>) is not the same as the originating goal (SO<sub>e<\/sub>) and that becomes evident when spoken words are instantly decoded by a langue operator<sub>2a<\/sub>&nbsp;(SV<sub>s<\/sub>) as&nbsp;<em>an event akin to sensation<sub>2a<\/sub><\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1030 That brings me (the examiner) back to [meaning] as the contiguity between an objective goal<sub>2c<\/sub>&nbsp;(SO<sub>e<\/sub>) and an (objective) parole (SV<sub>i<\/sub>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>1021 So, in this language game concerning theories of meaning, I end up with&nbsp;the appearance&nbsp;that &#8220;end-directive activities&#8221;
