(Part 1 of 6)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>0991 The text before me is chapter eight of&nbsp;<em>Pathways<\/em>&nbsp;(see point 0831 for book details, pages 167-185).&nbsp;&nbsp;The full title is &#8220;A Constructivist Approach to Meanings in the Universe&#8221;.&nbsp;&nbsp;The author is a linguist at Baikal University, Irkutsk, Russia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>0992 My examination, so far, identifies&nbsp;<em>a biosemiotic noumenal overlay,<\/em>&nbsp;composed of both&nbsp;<em>semiotic agency<\/em>&nbsp;(the Sharov and Tonnessen noumenal overlay) and&nbsp;<em>the interventional sign relation<\/em>.&nbsp;&nbsp;The diagram reifies three sign-relations: specifying, exemplar and interventional.&nbsp;&nbsp;The specifying and exemplar sign-relations belong to semiotic agency.&nbsp;&nbsp;The interventional sign relation stands outside of semiotic agency, but is integrated with semiotic agency by way of its participation in&nbsp;<em>a three-level interscope<\/em>.&nbsp;&nbsp;A three-level interscope contains all three sign-relations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>0993&nbsp;<em>The following figure of an interscope<\/em>&nbsp;contains the three sign-elements (SV for sign-vehicle; derives from the Latin word for &#8220;knowledge&#8221;.&nbsp;&nbsp;&#8220;Logos&#8221; comes from the Greek word for &#8220;word&#8221;.&nbsp;&nbsp;Or maybe, &#8220;intrinsic nature of&#8221;?&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;How about &#8220;study of&#8221;?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Looking at the above figure, I see a problem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For this examination, [meaning] is the contiguity between the exemplar sign-object (SO<sub>e<\/sub>) and the interventional sign-vehicle (SV<sub>i<\/sub>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Is that the same as &#8220;the meaning&#8221; that exists in the universe?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1000 It makes me wonder, &#8220;What is a contiguity?&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are some cases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Slide280.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Slide280.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-9098\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Slide280.png 600w, https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Slide280-300x200.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>1001 Aristotle&#8217;s hylomorphe is exemplar.&nbsp;&nbsp;The much-abused word, &#8220;substance&#8221;, weirdly captures the way that matter &#8220;causes&#8221;
