means &#8220;experts&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>0857 Yes, experts<sub>3<\/sub>&nbsp;are semiotic agents<sub>3<\/sub>.&nbsp;&nbsp;Obviously, one of their &#8216;final causes&#8217;<sub>1<\/sub>&nbsp;involves &#8216;protecting academic turf&#8217;<sub>1<\/sub>.&nbsp;&nbsp;The normal context of expert<sub>3<\/sub>&nbsp;brings the actuality of expertise (semiotic agency)<sub>2<\/sub>&nbsp;into relation with the potential of &#8216;defending established academic real-estate&#8217;<sub>1<\/sub>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>0858 Somehow, in my rambling discourse, I claim that&nbsp;<em>observations,<\/em>&nbsp;in the modern social sciences, tend to be&#8230;
