for &#8220;salience&#8221; in SI<sub>e<\/sub>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>0757 The substitution is justified because information<sub>2b<\/sub>&nbsp;(SO<sub>s<\/sub>&nbsp;[&amp;] SV<sub>e<\/sub>) says, &#8220;Danger is present.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The &#8220;danger&#8221; goes with SO<sub>s<\/sub>.&nbsp;&nbsp;Its &#8220;presence&#8221; is&nbsp;<em>what I am sentient of&nbsp;<\/em>(SV<sub>e<\/sub>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The exemplar sign-relation goes like this.&nbsp;&nbsp;The danger<sub>2b<\/sub>&nbsp;(SV<sub>e<\/sub>) that I am sentient of<sub>3c,1c<\/sub>&nbsp;(SI<sub>e<\/sub>) stands for something that I can avoid or safely ignore<sub>2c<\/sub>&nbsp;(SO<sub>e<\/sub>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>0758 So, what is the problem?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The author does not have the Sharov and Tonnessen noumenal overlay, which is foundational for the Positivist&#8217;s judgment, when it comes to biosemiotics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Consequently, the author proposes that&nbsp;<em>Thomas Sebeok&#8217;s concept of modeling<\/em>&nbsp;may be used as a&nbsp;<em>productive approach<\/em>.&nbsp;&nbsp;After all, modeling offers&nbsp;<em>a highly integrative framework for meaning generation<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>0759 Shall we see?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If&nbsp;<em>highly integrative frameworks for meaning<\/em>&nbsp;(that is, Sebeok&#8217;s models) are um&#8230; &#8220;natural&#8221;&#8230; for humans, then they should support implicit abstractions, characteristic of&nbsp;<em>the Lebenswelt that we evolved in<\/em>.&nbsp;&nbsp;Implicit abstractions are holistic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>0760 But, there is a problem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We no longer live in&nbsp;<em>the Lebenswelt that we evolved in<\/em>.&nbsp;&nbsp;<em>The Lebenswelt that we evolved in<\/em>&nbsp;practices hand- and hand-speech talk, which is holistic and relies on Peirce&#8217;s natural sign-relations of icon and index.&nbsp;&nbsp;Of course, symbols operate in the background, allowing hand talk to become linguistic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>0761&nbsp;<em>Our current Lebenswelt<\/em>&nbsp;practices speech-alone talk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Slide221.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Slide221.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8987\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Slide221.png 600w, https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Slide221-300x200.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>0762 How is this relevant to the current discussion?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With speech-alone talk,&nbsp;<em>different aspects of a holistic implicit abstraction<\/em>&nbsp;can be explicitly labeled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The author identifies three dimensions to Sebeok&#8217;s models (as highly integrative frameworks of meaning): existential, representational and interpretational.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>0763 These three dimensions are explicit abstractions.&nbsp;&nbsp;They label &#8220;dimensions&#8221;
