is&nbsp;<em>what the noumenon must be,<\/em>&nbsp;when it came to animal behavior.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>0593 If correct,&nbsp;<em>Pavlov&#8217;s work<\/em>&nbsp;demonstrates that phenomenology is practiced in&nbsp;<em>the formation of social sciences<\/em>&nbsp;long before Husserl develops an explicit methodology for arriving at&nbsp;<em>what the noumenon must be<\/em>.&nbsp;&nbsp;This is discussed in points 0120 to 0129.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The word, &#8220;anticipation&#8221; papers over&nbsp;<em>the noumenon for a wide variety of psychological phenomena<\/em>.&nbsp;&nbsp;But, some scientists treat the word as if it is only&nbsp;<em>a technical term in the scientific discipline of psychology.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Slide185.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Slide185.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8923\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Slide185.png 600w, https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Slide185-300x200.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>0594 This conclusion is far more difficult to grasp that any warning about anthropomorphic theories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Why?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today&#8217;s psychologists think that &#8220;anticipation&#8221; is&nbsp;<em>the thing itself<\/em>&nbsp;when it comes to&nbsp;<em>operant and instrumental conditioning<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>0596 On top of that, neither&nbsp;<em>&#8220;anticipation as noumenon&#8221;<\/em>&nbsp;nor&nbsp;<em>models of conditioned responses<\/em>&nbsp;are semiotic.&nbsp;&nbsp;They do not face the reality that&nbsp;<em>the thing itself<\/em>&nbsp;can only be recognized within&nbsp;<em>a purely relational structure<\/em>.&nbsp;&nbsp;<em>The noumena for biology, psychology and sociology<\/em>&nbsp;are not as obvious as&nbsp;<em>the noumena of the empirical sciences<\/em>.&nbsp;&nbsp;They are not obvious because they are&nbsp;<em>actualities<sub>2<\/sub>&nbsp;that only manifest in their proper normal contexts<sub>3<\/sub>&nbsp;and potentials<sub>1<\/sub><\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Indeed, at some level of awareness, both social scientists and phenomenologists have always known this.&nbsp;&nbsp;<em>Sharov and Tonnessen&#8217;s noumenal overlay<\/em>&nbsp;may be the first attempt to ground&nbsp;<em>noumena in the biological and social sciences&nbsp;<\/em>in&nbsp;<em>the realness of triadic relations<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>0597 This brings me back to&nbsp;<em>agency in non-human organisms<\/em>.&nbsp;&nbsp;The interactions between agents and subagents, as well as between agents, has been a focus on dyadic research for the modern era.&nbsp;&nbsp;These interactions will need to be reframed for&nbsp;<em>the postmodern era of triadic relations<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>0598 Indeed, take a look at the following figure, depicting the semiotic agency of Pavlov and his dogs as if they are subagents in a scientific institution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Slide186.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Slide186.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8924\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Slide186.png 600w, https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Slide186-300x200.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Both&nbsp;<em>the apparatus<\/em>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<em>the dog in the sling<\/em>&nbsp;cohere to&nbsp;<em>the relational structure of semiotic agency<\/em>&nbsp;(as formulated by the S&amp;T noumenal overlay).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>0599 But, look at&nbsp;<em>that dashed line arrow<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I wonder, &#8220;Is that arrow dyadic?&nbsp;&nbsp;Or does it hide a triadic relation?&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So concludes this examination of chapter four of&nbsp;<em>Semiotic Agency<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>0592 What is Pavlov up to?
