(Part 3 of 4)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>0452 What does this imply?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Scientists have been elucidating&nbsp;<em>the physical foreground of semiotic agency<\/em>&nbsp;for four-hundred years, while at the same time remaining oblivious to&nbsp;<em>its metaphysical background<\/em>.&nbsp;&nbsp;It&#8217;s funny in a horrifying sort of way.&nbsp;&nbsp;Perhaps, we may be forgiven, for we know not&nbsp;<em>what we do<\/em>.&nbsp;&nbsp;Without the causes associated to Aristotle&#8217;s metaphysics, we cannot even ascertain&nbsp;<em>what an agent is<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here is a picture, once again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Slide146.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Slide146.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8853\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Slide146.png 600w, https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Slide146-300x200.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>0453 An agent<sub>3<\/sub>&nbsp;brings semiotic agency<sub>2<\/sub>&nbsp;into relation with the potential of &#8216;final causality&#8217;<sub>1<\/sub>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Without the potential of teleology<sub>1<\/sub>, the agent<sub>3<\/sub>&nbsp;cannot be recognized as the normal context for semiotic agency<sub>2<\/sub>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>0454 In section 12.2, Igamberdiev introduces two distinctive terms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To me, &#8220;ontolon&#8221; labels&nbsp;<em>the coming together of a triadic relation<\/em>.&nbsp;&nbsp;<em>A triadic relation<\/em>&nbsp;is an&nbsp;<em>ontological whole<\/em>.&nbsp;&nbsp;Ontology encompasses thirdness, secondness and firstness.&nbsp;&nbsp;<em>A single category-based nested form<\/em>&nbsp;is&nbsp;<em>an ontolon<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To me, &#8220;vortex&#8221; labels&nbsp;<em>the swirling coming-to-fruition of<\/em>&nbsp;<em>a model,<\/em>&nbsp;in conjunction with&nbsp;<em>disciplinary language<\/em>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<em>the observations and measurements of phenomena<\/em>.&nbsp;&nbsp;In short, &#8220;vortex&#8221; labels&nbsp;<em>an empirio-schematic judgment,<\/em>&nbsp;as&nbsp;<em>a triadic relation<\/em>&nbsp;constellating in&nbsp;<em>what ought to be<\/em>&nbsp;(and secondness) in the Positivist&#8217;s judgment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>0455 In sum,&nbsp;<em>Igamberdiev&#8217;s terms<\/em>&nbsp;label&nbsp;<em>the two sources of illumination<\/em>&nbsp;in&nbsp;<em>the Positivist&#8217;s judgment.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Slide147.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Slide147.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8854\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Slide147.png 600w, https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Slide147-300x200.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Uh-oh, where is the ontolon?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>0456&nbsp;<em>Ontolons<\/em>&nbsp;associate to&nbsp;<em>noumena<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Vortexes<\/em>&nbsp;associate to&nbsp;<em>phenomena.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>0457&nbsp;<em>Sharov and Tonnessen&#8217;s noumenal overlay<\/em>&nbsp;identifies&nbsp;<em>what phenomena can objectify the noumenal overlay<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Remember, triumphal science places a successful model over the noumenon, in order to create the situation where&nbsp;<em>a model<\/em>&nbsp;(veiling the noumenon)&nbsp;<em>[can be objectified as] its phenomena<\/em>.&nbsp;&nbsp;<em>Sharov and Tonnessen&#8217;s noumenal overlay<\/em>performs the same catharsis.&nbsp;&nbsp;Yet, the performance cannot be complete, because&nbsp;<em>Sharov and Tonnessen&#8217;s noumenal overlay<\/em>&nbsp;is&#8230; um&#8230; noumenal.&nbsp;&nbsp;Indeed, it contains&nbsp;<em>what every biological system has in common:<\/em>&nbsp;the specifying and exemplar sign-relations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>0458&nbsp;<em>The phenomena that Sharov and Tonnessen&#8217;s noumenal overlay identify<\/em>&nbsp;may be observed and measured by biologists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Why?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Humans recognize noumena.&nbsp;&nbsp;That is one of&nbsp;<em>the human adaptations<\/em>&nbsp;into&nbsp;<em>our niche of triadic relations<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, sign-vehicles and sign-objects constitute phenomena that humans may observe (and on occasion, measure).&nbsp;&nbsp;That data may then go into models (vortexes) that account for&nbsp;<em>the contiguities in the S&amp;T noumenal overlay<\/em>.&nbsp;&nbsp;These models do not overwrite the noumenon, they&nbsp;<em>fill in<\/em>&nbsp;the noumenon.&nbsp;&nbsp;So, &#8220;vortex&#8221; is an excellent word that describes&nbsp;<em>the way models fill in the elements of the noumenon that need to be explained<\/em>.&nbsp;&nbsp;Models enrich our appreciation of&nbsp;<em>material and efficient causalities that are not divorced from formal and final causalities<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>0459 What does this imply?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Sharov and Tonnessen&#8217;s noumenal overlay<\/em>&nbsp;explains the character of&nbsp;<em>what is<\/em>&nbsp;for&nbsp;<em>the biosemiotic version of the Positivist&#8217;s judgment<\/em>.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<em>S&amp;T&#8217;s overlay<\/em>&nbsp;[can be objectified by]&nbsp;<em>its phenomena<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yet, the nested form of agent<sub>3<\/sub>&nbsp;(an ontolon) cannot be fully objectified by the same phenomena.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Why?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Agent<sub>3<\/sub>&nbsp;is the normal context<sub>3<\/sub>&nbsp;and &#8216;final causalities&#8217;<sub>1<\/sub>&nbsp;is the potential<sub>1<\/sub>&nbsp;for all semiotic agencies<sub>2<\/sub>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Slide148.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Slide148.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8855\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Slide148.png 600w, https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Slide148-300x200.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Ah, now I see the ontolon and the vortex.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>0452 What does this imply?
