The Old Testament says as much.\u00a0 The OT emphasizes the Law given to the children of Abraham.\u00a0 The OT idea of \u201csin\u201d is \u201cgoing against [thinkdivine<\/sup>3<\/sub>]\u201d.\u00a0 The Greek idea of \u201csin\u201d as \u201cgoing against the essential laws of nature [or lawessential<\/sup>3<\/sub>] is not apparent.<\/p>\n At first, the OT view of the Law did not entail a personal relation between human and God.\u00a0 The Law was coupled to the covenant.\u00a0 The covenant was with the people of Israel.<\/p>\n For the prophets, disobedience to the Law was treated as if the sinner abused her, I mean, ‘his’ relation to God.\u00a0 God\u2019s laws could be twisted and rejected.\u00a0 God\u2019s own people could call the evil, “good”, and the good, “evil”.\u00a0 Some did not bow to Yahweh.\u00a0 Some rejected the yoke of Yahweh\u2019s commandments, displaying a hardened heart.<\/p>\n For the prophets, the Law entailed a relation between person and God.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" I look at the text (page 7 on).
