(Part 3 of 20)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>0273 Now, that I have examined&nbsp;<em>the introduction<\/em>&nbsp;and demonstrated&nbsp;<em>how this examination applies the post-truth interscope to Ramaswamy&#8217;s text,<\/em>&nbsp;I go to the end of the book.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The title of the last chapter is &#8220;Who are we?&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Are &#8220;we&#8221; the ones who have substituted&nbsp;<em>the broadcasts of the empirio-normative judgment<\/em>&nbsp;for our own thoughts, so&nbsp;<em>what we say<\/em>&nbsp;can be objectified as&nbsp;<em>phenomena for the psychometric sciences?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Or are &#8220;we&#8221; the ones who read the previous sentence and ask, &#8220;What the hell are we talking about?&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The choice is not so clear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>0274 How so?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Is the American Dream&nbsp;<em>earning a diploma<\/em>&nbsp;or is it&nbsp;<em>getting ahead?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What do you think?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>How can any one person convert another person to his own view when that one person, first, must think up an opinion and second, be willing to say that opinion?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Well, certainly,&nbsp;<em>forums for expressing one&#8217;s opinion<\/em>&nbsp;should be common.&nbsp;&nbsp;Isn&#8217;t that the nature of civic society?&nbsp;&nbsp;There are as many venues for saying&nbsp;<em>what one wants to say<\/em>&nbsp;as there are institutions to belong to.&nbsp;&nbsp;But, how many institutions are there to belong to?&nbsp;&nbsp;And, are those institutions sufficiently different as to allow a broad spectrum of public opinion?&nbsp;&nbsp;Or, is there a balance between public and private?&nbsp;&nbsp;One can say any opinion in private, provided that you have the confidence of family and friends.&nbsp;&nbsp;But, what about in public?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>0275 Experts<sub>3b<\/sub>&nbsp;are everywhere in public institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anyone can have an opinion.&nbsp;&nbsp;If one wants to publicly state that opinion, then&nbsp;<em>some expert in synodality<\/em>&nbsp;may be willing to listen.&nbsp;&nbsp;Your input is phenomena<sub>2a<\/sub>&nbsp;to be observed and measured<sub>1b<\/sub>&nbsp;and accounted for using a specialized, disciplinary, scientific-sounding language<sub>2b<\/sub>.&nbsp;&nbsp;Ultimately, that expert<sub>3b<\/sub>&nbsp;will offer a model<sub>2b<\/sub>&nbsp;that characterizes value<sub>2b<\/sub>&nbsp;according to two, apparently independent formats, the capitalist and the socialist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is all very scientific.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Your words<\/em>&nbsp;are&nbsp;<em>their data<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>0276 If you state&nbsp;<em>what you think<sub>2a<\/sub><\/em>&nbsp;then experts<sub>3b<\/sub>&nbsp;will take&nbsp;<em>what you say<sub>2a<\/sub><\/em>&nbsp;as&nbsp;<em>phenomena<sub>2a<\/sub>&nbsp;<\/em>that may be&nbsp;<em>observed and measured<sub>1b<\/sub><\/em>&nbsp;in order to build&nbsp;<em>psychometric models<sub>2b<\/sub><\/em>, that, in turn, will offer&nbsp;<em>an opportunity<sub>1c<\/sub><\/em>&nbsp;for&nbsp;<em>the one of scientism<sub>3c<\/sub><\/em>&nbsp;to issue&nbsp;<em>an empirio-normative judgment<sub>2c<\/sub>,<\/em>&nbsp;that is supposed to replace&nbsp;<em>what you think<sub>2a<\/sub><\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is&nbsp;<em>a public service announcement<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>0277 Chapter fourteen discusses the bastardization of the term, &#8220;service&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For pluralists, &#8220;service<sub>2a<\/sub>&#8221; is&nbsp;<em>an exercise of individual responsibility<sub>2a<\/sub><\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For bigilibs, &#8220;service<sub>2c<\/sub>&#8221; is defined as&nbsp;<em>an activity<sub>2c<\/sub>&nbsp;that meets criteria set forth by experts in order, value and righteousness<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Of course, &#8220;service<sub>2c<\/sub>&#8221; can be observed and measured<sub>1b<\/sub>, then formulated into a value<sub>2b<\/sub>&nbsp;that opens the door to an opportunity<sub>1c<\/sub>.&nbsp;&nbsp;This opportunity<sub>1c<\/sub>&nbsp;may sound like &#8220;getting ahead<sub>2a<\/sub>&#8220;, but is really a chance for the scientismist one<sub>3c<\/sub>&nbsp;to churn out an empirio-normative judgment<sub>2c<\/sub>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>0280 Say what?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ramaswamy offers hilarious stories where,&nbsp;<em>what experts<sub>3b<\/sub>&nbsp;observe and record<sub>1b<\/sub>&nbsp;as &#8220;service&#8221;<sub>2b<\/sub><\/em>&nbsp;(according to their models<sub>2b<\/sub>) has nothing to do with&nbsp;<em>the exercise of individual responsibility<sub>2a<\/sub><\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In fact, it is the opposite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>0281 Consider&nbsp;<em>the post-truth process of passing from situation-level value<sub>2b<\/sub>&nbsp;to opportunity<sub>1c<\/sub><\/em>&nbsp;in regards to&nbsp;<em>an acolyte of the American system who is about to graduate from high-school<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>First, psychometric models<sub>2b<\/sub>&nbsp;may yield advisory slogans, in regards to success<sub>2c<\/sub>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Second, these slogans<sub>2b<\/sub>&nbsp;associate to certain risks<sub>1c<\/sub>&nbsp;and opportunities<sub>1c<\/sub>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Slide08-2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Slide08-2.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7994\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Slide08-2.png 600w, https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Slide08-2-300x200.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>0282 Clearly, Ramaswamy has some experience in playing this game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>The goal of the young college-bound player<\/em>&nbsp;is to provide a &#8220;service&#8221;, that not only meets the expert-established criteria<sub>2b<\/sub>, but is clever enough to catch the eye of those who read and evaluate student applications<sub>1c<\/sub>.&nbsp;&nbsp;So, entrepreneurship is involved.&nbsp;&nbsp;The student aims to produce a product that satisfies a customer, in the hope that the customer will make an offer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>0283 It is crucial to note that the student is not trying to express his or her own opinions<sub>2a<\/sub>.&nbsp;&nbsp;The opinions of others<sub>2a<\/sub>&nbsp;have already been sampled and formalized as data<sub>1b<\/sub>&nbsp;by educational experts<sub>3b<\/sub>&nbsp;using precise terminology.&nbsp;&nbsp;Tables of criteria&#8230; well&#8230; more than&nbsp;<em>what Ramaswamy discusses<\/em>.&nbsp;&nbsp;Take a look at that relation!&nbsp;&nbsp;That relation is massively &#8220;post-truth&#8221;.&nbsp;<em>The three disciplinary languages<\/em>&nbsp;correspond to&nbsp;<em>normal contexts for an interscope<\/em>&nbsp;developed in&nbsp;<em>Looking at Gad Saad&#8217;s Book (2020) &#8220;The Parasitic Mind&#8221;<\/em>&nbsp;appearing in Razie Mah&#8217;s blog between April 11 and 29, 2023.&nbsp;&nbsp;<em>The rest of the judgment<\/em>&nbsp;corresponds to&nbsp;<em>what Ramaswamy discusses<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>0286 Success<sub>2c<\/sub>&nbsp;for the scientismist one<sub>3c<\/sub>&nbsp;is an actionable judgment<sub>2c<\/sub>&nbsp;arising from an opportunity<sub>1c<\/sub>&nbsp;to put&nbsp;<em>the expert level<\/em>into&nbsp;<em>perspective<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Success<sub>2a<\/sub>&nbsp;for the scrappy player is &#8220;getting ahead&#8221;<sub>2a<\/sub>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The question must be asked, &#8220;Is&nbsp;<em>success<sub>2c<\/sub><\/em>&nbsp;<em>for the one of scientism<sub>3c<\/sub><\/em>&nbsp;the same as&nbsp;<em>what the scrappy player thinks &#8216;success<sub>2a<\/sub>&#8216;
