The answer to the title question, Whatever became of sin?<\/em>, is \u201cpolitical incorrectness replaced the term\u201d.<\/p>\n This implies that the horizontal axis that Menninger attributed to \u201csin\u201d, that is, \u201ccrime(sin(symptom))\u201d is actually \u201ccrime(political incorrectness(symptom))\u201d.<\/p>\n In short, Menninger confounded the Progressive symbolic order with the Christian symbolic order.<\/p>\n He could not see the future development of the Public Cult of Progressivism.\u00a0 He was immersed in it.\u00a0\u00a0 In the late 1960\u2019s, the Public Cult of Progressivism and the private cults of the New Age Movement (white magic) and Satanism (dark magic) were \u201cin the water\u201d.<\/p>\n As a trained psychoanalyst, Menninger could \u201chear\u201d (that the word \u201csin\u201d was no longer used) but he could not fully \u201cinterpret\u201d (what the loss implied).\u00a0 So he presented the \u201cinterpretation\u201d that he had at the moment.\u00a0 Like all psychoanalytic interpretations, what he wrote was provisional.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Menninger could not see into the future.
