Menninger began his reverie by asking: How can Man control Man?<\/p>\n
Did he realize that one question answers the other?<\/p>\n
In order for one human to control another, the both parties must surrender personal responsibility, what the vertical nested form denotes \u201cconsciencefree<\/sup>\u201d.\u00a0 Also, both have to give up the concept of \u201csin\u201d as a product of individual responsibility and a cause for individual guilt.<\/p>\n This had already occurred decades before the humorous and catch-all term \u201cpolitical incorrectness\u201d was popularized.<\/p>\n Political epithets \u2013 so popular from the 1960 to 2012 \u2013 convey all the implications of \u201csin\u201d.\u00a0 \u201cAnti-environmentalist\u201d, \u201csexist\u201d, \u201cracist\u201d, \u201chomophobe\u201d and \u201cfundamentalist\u201d imply personal responsibility (for the accused), identify something to be eliminated, expect further action and restitution, and impose a cost or penalty (of lost reputation, if nothing else).<\/p>\n Similar to \u201csin\u201d, if not more so, \u201cpolitical incorrectness\u201d has been criminalized and symptomized.\u00a0 In the next two blogs, I present two examples, each with a twist.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Chapter 9 is titled: \u201cSin, So what?\u201d Menninger began his reverie by asking: How can Man control Man?
