{"id":5888,"date":"2022-12-13T08:00:00","date_gmt":"2022-12-13T08:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/?p=5888"},"modified":"2022-10-27T19:30:40","modified_gmt":"2022-10-27T19:30:40","slug":"a-primer-for-how-to-define-the-word-religion-9","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/?p=5888","title":{"rendered":"Looking at Razie Mah&#8217;s\u00a0\u00a0(2015) A Primer on the Family\u00a0\u00a0(Part 15 of 24)\ufffc"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>0093 What is righteous<sub>1aC<\/sub>?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Can righteousness<sub>1aC<\/sub>&nbsp;be pictured or pointed to with hand talk?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Of course not, what is there to image or point to?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yet, our hominin ancestors adapt to the niche of righteousness, in&nbsp;<em>the Lebenswelt that we evolved in<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>How can our ancestors adapt into&nbsp;<em>a niche that they cannot label?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>0094 In our current Lebenswelt, the term, &#8220;righteousness&#8221;, is an explicit abstraction.&nbsp;&nbsp;<em>An explicit abstraction<\/em>&nbsp;places a label on&nbsp;<em>&#8216;something&#8217; that we cannot image or indicate using hand talk.<\/em>&nbsp;&nbsp;Such is the advantage of&nbsp;<em>speech-alone talk<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>0095 So how do we figure out what the term refers to?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We project reference into the term, &#8220;righteous<sub>1aC<\/sub>&#8220;, and construct artifacts&#8230; er, do I mean to say?.. organizational objectives<sub>2aC<\/sub>&nbsp;that validate the projections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If that sounds circular, like some sort of feedback loop, then I can only conclude that humans are loopy.&nbsp;&nbsp;As long as the artifact, the object<sup>org<\/sup><sub>2aC<\/sub>, continues to be relevant to the individual in community<sub>A<\/sub>&nbsp;and the organization<sub>B<\/sub>&nbsp;tiers, then the institution<sub>3aC<\/sub>&nbsp;remains, promulgating its righteousness<sub>1aC<\/sub>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>0096 As soon as the artifact is no longer salient, then who remembers?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The family always remembers.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Why?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Children are always relevant.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>0093 What is righteous1aC?
