Maybe, the term, &#8220;our current Lebenswelt&#8221;, will do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The word, &#8220;Lebenswelt&#8221;, is German for &#8220;living world&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>0018 Here is an initial picture of&nbsp;<em>two actualities constituting a single actuality<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a current Lebenswelt,<\/em>&nbsp;the world after Adam and Eve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Human evolution<sub>2H<\/sub>&nbsp;covers a&nbsp;<em>much longer timeline<\/em>&nbsp;than&nbsp;<em>our current Lebenswelt<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This introduces a wrinkle to the fabric of Haarsma&#8217;s work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The natural<sub>3H<\/sub>&nbsp;and theological transition<sub>3V<\/sub>&nbsp;marking the start of our current Lebenswelt<sub>2<\/sub>&nbsp;involves only a fraction of the entirety of human evolution.&nbsp;&nbsp;It is like trying to fix one&#8217;s glasses with a tool kit designed for automobiles.&nbsp;&nbsp;It is like cutting a handkerchief from a bedsheet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>0020 Haarsma premises his book on&nbsp;<em>the tenet that there are several possible ways to harmonize human evolution and the doctrine of original sin<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Plus,&nbsp;<em>none of them<\/em>&nbsp;are good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Why?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>None of them raise the following question, coming from&nbsp;<em>the standpoint of original sin<sub>2V<\/sub><\/em>&nbsp;and addressing&nbsp;<em>experts on human evolution<sub>2H<\/sub>.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Why is&nbsp;<em>our current Lebenswelt<\/em>&nbsp;is not the same as&nbsp;<em>the Lebenswelt that we evolved in?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>0020 Clearly, a natural transition<sub>3H<\/sub>&nbsp;and a theological transition<sub>3V<\/sub>&nbsp;contextualize the start of&nbsp;<em>our current Lebenswelt<sub>2<\/sub><\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Furthermore,&nbsp;<em>our current Lebenswelt<sub>2<\/sub><\/em>&nbsp;arises from two, apparently independent, potentials:&nbsp;<em>an adaptive change in human prehistory<sub>1H<\/sub><\/em>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<em>a cultural change that is captured in the stories of Adam and Eve<sub>1V<\/sub><\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As already noted, these two potentials point to&nbsp;<em>the Ubaid, Uruk and Sumerian Dynastic archaeological periods of southern Mesopotamia<sub>2<\/sub><\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the e-work,&nbsp;<em>The First Singularity And Its Fairy Tale Trace,<\/em>&nbsp;these two potentials pertain to&nbsp;<em>a cultural change that potentiates civilization (specifically) and unconstrained social complexity (generally)<sub>2<\/sub><\/em>.&nbsp;&nbsp;This cultural change marks the start of&nbsp;<em>our current Lebenswelt<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>0022 In brief,&nbsp;<em>the doctrine of original sin<sub>2V<\/sub><\/em>&nbsp;challenges&nbsp;<em>the discipline of modern Anthropology<sub>2H<\/sub>,<\/em>&nbsp;which currently proposes&nbsp;<em>a litany of material causes<\/em>&nbsp;for the potentiation of civilization, such as the birth of agriculture, or the use of irrigation, or population pressures, or this or that material condition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>0023 Original sin<sub>2V<\/sub>&nbsp;forces the Christian to ask the scientist, &#8220;What if the natural transition<sub>3H<\/sub>&nbsp;to&nbsp;<em>our current Lebenswelt<\/em>&nbsp;is not material?&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is the location where Loren Haarsma cannot go, because he values the discoveries of natural history and genetics.&nbsp;&nbsp;For years, he has been working with&nbsp;<em>human evolution writ large<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The result is that&nbsp;<em>the initial intersection<\/em>&nbsp;is lopsided.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure
