(Part 10 of 10)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>0076 Of course, the science always changes.&nbsp;&nbsp;The revelations in Scripture do not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Darwin&#8217;s theory of natural selection is less than two centuries old.&nbsp;&nbsp;Certain Christian doctrines have remained unchanged for twenty centuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>0077 What is the problem?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Is there a problem with highly educated experts claiming that scientific knowledge is more believable than the book of Genesis?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wait until they hear about&nbsp;<em>the hypothesis of the first singularity<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Is the problem that there is&nbsp;<em>a demonic serpent<\/em>&nbsp;hiding in&nbsp;<em>the tree of the knowledge of good and evil?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Modern secular academics have been cultivating that tree for centuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>0078 Hermeneutics is key.&nbsp;&nbsp;The problem lies in how to interpret Scripture.&nbsp;&nbsp;The reader<sub>3b<\/sub>&nbsp;must interpret<sub>2b<\/sub>&nbsp;the biblical text<sub>1b<\/sub>, using hermeneutics and exegesis<sub>1b<\/sub>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kulikovsky relies on the 1978&nbsp;<em>Chicago Statement on Biblical Inerrancy<\/em>, promulgated by the Evangelical Theological Society, in order to address these problems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Society affirms the good and denies the bad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yet,&nbsp;<em>the bad<\/em>&nbsp;turns out to be&nbsp;<em>affirmations that are vulnerable to denial<\/em>, because they may be taken so far as to negate their corresponding affirmations.&nbsp;&nbsp;The denials contain views that must be held in abeyance and regarded with an eye towards mischief.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>0079 Yet,&nbsp;<em>the hypothesis of the first singularity<\/em>&nbsp;offers a new opportunity.&nbsp;&nbsp;<em>Devotees of scientism<\/em>&nbsp;will find no harbor in saying that scientific knowledge disproves or has priority over the Scriptures.&nbsp;&nbsp;<em>Those who want to limit Biblical authority to religious themes, and who offer recipes to separate the theological message from the worldviews of the ancient Near East,<\/em>&nbsp;find no solace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Why?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Genesis 2.4-11 is&nbsp;<em>an insider&#8217;s view of the development of unconstrained social complexity in the Ubaid, the Uruk and the Sumerian Dynastic archaeological periods<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>0080 The text itself is&nbsp;<em>a feature of God&#8217;s revelation<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>0081 The denials may be modified into<em>&nbsp;contrasts that are vulnerable to being misconstrued&nbsp;<\/em>and placed in greimas squares, along with their affirmations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>0082 Articles IX and XII yield one greimas square.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Slide14.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Slide14.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5372\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Slide14.png 600w, https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Slide14-300x200.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><figcaption>Figure 14<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>0083 Articles XIV and XX yield another greimas square.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Slide15.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Slide15.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5373\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Slide15.png 600w, https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Slide15-300x200.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><figcaption>Figure 15<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>0085&nbsp;<em>The scientific hypothesis of the first singularity<\/em>&nbsp;changes&nbsp;<em>the ground beneath Kulikovsky&#8217;s brief and concise overview<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yet,&nbsp;<em>the grounds of hermeneutics and exegesis<\/em>&nbsp;remain the same.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kulikovsky concludes that&nbsp;<em>the difficultly<\/em>&nbsp;lies, not so much with&nbsp;<em>understanding the teaching of Scripture,<\/em>&nbsp;but believing it to be real.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>0076 Of course, the science always changes.&nbsp;&nbsp;The revelations in Scripture do not.
