A judgment is a triadic relation<\/em> with three elements: relation<\/em>, what is<\/em> and what ought to be<\/em>.  When each element is assigned to one of Peirce’s three categories, the judgment becomes actionable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The three categories are thirdness, the triadic realm of normal contexts;<\/em> secondness, the dyadic realm of actuality;<\/em> and firstness, the monadic realm of possibilities<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thirdness brings secondness, the dyadic realm of actuality,<\/em> into relation with firstness, the monadic realm of possibilities.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This agreement<\/em> serves as the relation<\/em> that brings together what is<\/em> and what ought to be<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The relation<\/em> belongs to the category of thirdness, the realm of normal contexts, mediations, signs and so on<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
