The idea that the serpent is an independent being comes in the introduction, where the serpent is described as the \u201cmost wily creature that the Lord God had made\u201d.\u00a0 But, this description also fits the modern psychoanalytic concept of the \u201cunconscious\u201d.<\/p>\n
The serpent first speaks in an \u201congoing conversation\u201d.\u00a0 Who else was Eve talking to?\u00a0 Adam only is later mentioned.\u00a0 She was talking to herself.<\/p>\n
The serpent validated Eve\u2019s \u201cunconscious suspicions\u201d.
