Because of the narrow focus of Peters\u2019 book, I extended his formalism from the private occluding magic of Satan (which Peters contrasts with the clarifying magic of the New Age Movements) to the current (2012) religion (that contrasts with the private cults of dark and light magic): the Public Cult of Progressivism.<\/p>\n

Pride(Anxiety(FaithProgressivism<\/sup>)) is the nested form underlying this Cult.<\/p>\n

As before, pride is the feeling that one can define reality.\u00a0 Pride defines what is to be esteemed by the \u201cself\u201d.\u00a0 Pride defines \u201cgroups\u201d that progressive individuals can belong to \u2013 to the point \u2013 of \u201cnot knowing any different\u201d.<\/p>\n

Anxiety is the fear of loss of one\u2019s xiety<\/em> (what one has, could have had, or pretends to have).<\/p>\n

Progressive xiety<\/em> is \u201cself-esteem\u201d.<\/p>\n

The Progressive will aggressively resist loss of \u201cself-esteem\u201d and attack others who appear to challenge their \u00a0pursuit of \u201cself-esteem\u201d.<\/p>\n

At the same time, the imposition of their \u201cconstructions of esteem\u201d on others, through law (the central state), indoctrination (state education), and propaganda (the conformist media), always shifts the boundary of what constitutes an insult.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
