The seven steps to radical evil are described in a sequence of seven chapters that constitute the body of Peters\u2019 book.<\/p>\n
I will look at each of these steps in terms of nestedness as well as in terms of ideas in An Archaeology of the Fall<\/em>.<\/p>\n In order to do this, allow me to briefly describe the concept of nestedness.<\/p>\n Technically, \u201cnestedness\u201d is a loose application of Charles Sanders Peirce\u2019s concept of \u201cprecission\u201d.<\/p>\n Roughly, \u201cnestedness\u201d is a way to discuss a single topic in three realms \u2013 or categories \u2013 of existence: Normal Context, Actuality and Possibility.<\/p>\n Each of these categories emerges from the next lower level:\u00a0 Normal Context emerges from Actuality.\u00a0 Actuality emerges from Possibility.<\/p>\n Or\u2026.<\/p>\n The Realm of Normal puts the Realm of Actuality into Context.<\/p>\n The Realm of Possibility makes the Realm of Actuality Possible.<\/p>\n And\u2026.<\/p>\n This may be written using parentheses:<\/p>\n Realm of Normal Context(Realm of Actuality (Realm of What Makes Actuality Possible))<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" The seven steps to radical evil are described in a sequence of seven chapters that constitute the body of Peters\u2019 book.
