The social consequences of pre-2012 feminism were multifaceted.\u00a0 The social consequences allowed some women to obtain powerful positions at prestigious universities.\u00a0 At the same time, more (maybe 1,000,000 to 1) women lost their ability to \u201ckeep their man\u201d and slid into a particular type of dependency.<\/p>\n
In the USA, the central government has become the \u201cprovider\u201d for millions of families headed by only a single woman.\u00a0 The \u201csocial justice\u201d of helping \u201ca woman who lost her husband\u201d has morphed into the \u201ccosmic injustice\u201d of millions of fatherless children.<\/p>\n
But there is a plus:\u00a0 As if dimly aware of their (now erased) need to exhibit fidelity, single women vote for their \u201cman\u201d (the Progressive \u201cDemocratic\u201d Party) unfailingly.\u00a0 And their \u201cman\u201d pays them back by giving them \u201cslightly less than \u2018what their husband might have provided\u2019 but more than pittance\u201d as well as grants to the few hundred feminist academics whose studies, by definition, always find that their sister\u2019s plight is due to \u201csexism\u201d.<\/p>\n
Neither feminist academics nor single households headed by a woman can break out of the symbolic construction in which they are bound.\u00a0 They do not even have the words to articulate what they all must know in their hearts.\u00a0 In fact, their own words place \u201cwhat they know in their hearts\u201d under erasure.<\/p>\n
