{"id":157,"date":"2013-02-06T01:16:46","date_gmt":"2013-02-06T01:16:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/75.103.96.165\/blog\/?p=157"},"modified":"2014-10-07T23:02:56","modified_gmt":"2014-10-07T23:02:56","slug":"thoughts-on-original-sin-by-tatha-wiley-2002-5b","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/?p=157","title":{"rendered":"Thoughts on Original Sin by Tatha Wiley (2002) 5B"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After the previous blog, Wiley\u2019s treatment of history should be a pleasure to read.<\/p>\n<p>However, maybe I should point out that the previous blog suggests a mind-boggling range of causalities between the nested worlds of symbol(index(icon), ordering(participating(imagining)) \u201cnormal context\u201d(situation(\u201cwhatever happened\u201d)) and so forth.\u00a0 Here are three:<\/p>\n<p>Changes in any one category alter the other two categories.<\/p>\n<p>The law of unintended consequences applies only to the situation.<\/p>\n<p>The presence of unintended consequences alters the imagination (before the normal context is altered).<\/p>\n<p>Also, the previous blog allows a nested image of Modernity:<\/p>\n<p>Doctrines of Reason &amp; Resistance(Society(Anthropology)<\/p>\n<p>The Renaissance re-centering of the imagination from a theocentric to an anthropocentric worldview empowered cryptotheological Doctrines of Reason and Resistance (that found full expression in the Enlightenment traditions) which, in turn, contextualized the emergence of the \u201cSociety\u201d of Industry and Science characteristic of Modernity.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After the previous blog, Wiley\u2019s treatment of history should be a pleasure to read.
