The Council of Trent\u2019s variation makes sense because \u2013 after the loss of the Paleolithic Lebenswelt \u2013 humans can only experience disorientation and alienation in the Lebenswelt of unconstrained complexity.\u00a0 By definition, \u201cwe know no what we do\u201d because we do not even realize that we are creating symbolic orders \u2013 \u201clanguages\u201d \u2013 all the time, without constraint.\u00a0 We cannot predict the consequences of the social constructions that arise from these \u201clanguages\u201d.<\/p>\n
So we must rely on Sanctifying Grace \u2013 particularly the orientation that comes from the Revelation of God that is the Bible \u2013 plus the inspiration that comes from the Sacraments as Living Expressions of that Revealed God \u2013 in order to transform our actions to be in accord with His Will.\u00a0 Yet, these actions are not prescribed.\u00a0 We are free to create.\u00a0 We are encouraged to create.<\/p>\n
