An evil inhabits the spontaneous order in which we are embedded.\u00a0 What is this evil?<\/p>\n
The spontaneous order exhibits statistical processes.\u00a0 Statistics mean that there are winners and losers.\u00a0 Natural good and natural evil coexist.<\/p>\n
Could this be the evil?<\/p>\n
On the other hand, where would the statistics be, if the order did not exist?\u00a0 Without the spontaneous order, neither natural good or natural evil exists.<\/p>\n
Could this be the evil?<\/p>\n
Could “the lack of statistical necessities” be simultaneously our ultimate limitation as well as the ultimate privation of good?<\/p>\n
So what are we asking when we pray, “Deliver us from evil?”<\/p>\n
