When we will slip from the realm of actuality to possibility, will the context remain true?<\/p>\n
Consider our prayers:<\/p>\n
First, we may ask God to \u201cpreserve us\u201d (and suppress the obvious consequences that, if God were to preserve me, then more and more energy would be devoted to maintaining \u201cme\u201d and less and less energy would be available for other trials, thereby undermining the spontaneous order).<\/p>\n
Second, we may ask God to \u201cdesign something better\u201d (that is, to \u201calter the rules of the game in our favor”, and suppress the obvious consequences of biased selection in a spontaneous order).<\/p>\n
Third, we may ask God to \u201cdeliver us from evil\u201d.<\/p>\n
Now, this one is in the Lord\u2019s Prayer, so I better not dismiss it.<\/p>\n
