[Here, of course, I must place my own mea culpa<\/i>.<\/p>\n
What I am doing surely seems to be a fixation.\u00a0 Look at this blog.\u00a0 Who in their right mind would blog on a short theological treatise written by a now forgotten Dutch theologian?<\/p>\n
I certainly operate within the parameters of my own dispositions.\u00a0 I cannot claim a truly free conscience.\u00a0 I always feel the call of a multitude of causes.\u00a0 But these causes are magical.\u00a0 They do not seek sovereign power.\u00a0 They seek the laughter of the festival. \u00a0Lighten up.\u00a0 Have some fun.\u00a0 Do not be so intense.<\/p>\n
These multitudinous causes should not be confused with religious causes, even though they may be accounted for by some religious institution.\u00a0 They are play filled, like Disney\u2019s Magic Kingdom.\u00a0 They do not hold the possibility of grasping sovereign power. Perhaps, someday there will be a word for these phantasmagorical beings, a word that differs from the term “religion”.<\/p>\n
The Sovereign does not need to maintain order in Disney\u2019s Kingdom.\u00a0 Unless, of course, a sovereigninfra<\/sup> religion motivates it to do so.<\/p>\n My play \u2013 my joy \u2013 is running around the landscape that Peirce discovered a century ago.\u00a0 His joy \u2013 his madness \u2013 was to clear that field.\u00a0 He called it \u201csemiotics\u201d.\u00a0 I call it \u201cpostmodern scholasticism\u201d.<\/p>\n At the same time, I wonder whether I will see the joy of freedom crushed, like a bird in a fist, as it has so many times before. Look at American Television in 2013.\u00a0 It pretends to be our friend, while, at the same time, condescends and manipulates.\u00a0 In fact, people on television claim to speak for me.\u00a0 They tell me what I should think in order to me to be their friend.<\/p>\n The instruments of pro-objects occupy seats of sovereign power.\u00a0 The television, that new way of talking, tells us \u201cwhat we want to hear\u201d.\u00a0 I have a sickening feeling, culled from history, about where this will lead.\u00a0 The Final Option (perhaps, the inevitable consequence of of a Single Payer Healthcare System) will be only one example of a Final Impenitence on a scale that dwarfs the individual as well as our imagination.<\/p>\n This topic, I suspect, Schoonenberg will tentatively approach.\u00a0 Stay tuned.<\/p>\n And so I conclude my blogs on section 5, chapter 1, entitled: \u201cSin Unto Death \u2013 Mortal Sin \u2013 Venial Sin\u201d.]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Summary of text [comment] page 39 [Here, of course, I must place my own mea culpa.
