[You have the power.\u00a0 You have the power to be responsible.\u00a0 You also have the power to be an instrument of \u201cthe object that brings all subjects into organization\u201d.\u00a0 You have the choice.<\/p>\n

In this, \u201cthe exercise of power\u201d mirrors \u201cthe final total self-donation\u201d and \u201cthe final impenitence\u201d.<\/p>\n

Total self-donation \u2013 the confirmation of love \u2013 puts sovereign power into context by saying, \u201cYou have the power to be responsible.\u201d\u00a0 Hope and faith yield \u201corganizational goals without the need for sovereign power\u201d.<\/p>\n

Impenitence, the hollowing out of hope and faith in favor of some partial object, grasps for sovereign power by saying what many want to hear: \u201cYou have the power to bring society into order according some organizational objective\u201d.<\/p>\n

But then, what if, by some historical fluke, I become sovereign.\u00a0 Can I become \u201cthe object that brings everyone into organization\u201d?\u00a0 I am the change<\/i> is more than a title of a good book.\u00a0 The phrase brings to the fore the creepy confounding of human flesh and totalitarian impulse.\u00a0 In the exercise of power, final impenitence becomes idolatry.\u00a0 The \u201cobject that brings all subjects into organization\u201d is mortal.<\/p>\n
