{"id":10188,"date":"2026-02-11T08:00:00","date_gmt":"2026-02-11T08:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/?p=10188"},"modified":"2025-10-12T14:08:34","modified_gmt":"2025-10-12T14:08:34","slug":"looking-at-peeter-torops-article-2017-semiotics-of-cultural-history-part-8-of-11","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/?p=10188","title":{"rendered":"Looking at Peeter Torop&#8217;s Article (2017) &#8220;Semiotics of Cultural History&#8221;\u00a0\u00a0(Part 8 of 11)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>1058 Now, about that rumor about AI discovering glyphic writing while examining fossilized dinosaur nests which were dated to 65Myr (millions of years ago), right before the asteroid impact that ended&nbsp;<em>the Epoch of Weird Multicellular Animals<\/em>&nbsp;(600-65Myr).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1059&nbsp;<em>The university involved in the incident<\/em>&nbsp;apologized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Apparently, over the Easter holidays,&nbsp;<em>the Anthropology Department<\/em>&nbsp;wheeled the new AI computer in use by&nbsp;<em>the Archaeology Department,<\/em>&nbsp;which had been examining&nbsp;<em>photos of fossilized dinosaur nests<\/em>&nbsp;for patterns, to take a look&nbsp;<em>very early pre-cuneiform tablets<\/em>.&nbsp;&nbsp;They trained the AI to recognize&nbsp;<em>cuneiform,<\/em>&nbsp;but when they applied the program to the early tablets, the AI said that&nbsp;<em>this pattern<\/em>&nbsp;showed that&nbsp;<em>an egg<\/em>&nbsp;lies here and&nbsp;<em>that pattern<\/em>&nbsp;is&nbsp;<em>a dinosaur footprint,<\/em>&nbsp;and so on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Frustrated,&nbsp;<em>the anthropology team<\/em>&nbsp;returned&nbsp;<em>the AI computer<\/em>&nbsp;to&nbsp;<em>the archaeologists,<\/em>&nbsp;who were surprised when the AI started reporting, around Pentecost, that&nbsp;<em>the nesting material<\/em>&nbsp;contained&nbsp;<em>intentionally written glyphs that could be interpreted<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1060 It is like the Greimas square.&nbsp;&nbsp;Train a student on the Greimas square, then every spoken word becomes a focus for the technique.&nbsp;&nbsp;It is quite remarkable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I suppose that applies to myself, because it seems that all I see is the TMS fundament and derivative interscopes in every semiotic paper that I examine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1061 So, maybe I should take a step back and draw a line between the virtual nested form in secondness for the fundament interscope and Torop&#8217;s table describing Bakhtin&#8217;s chronotopical system (Figure 2).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Slide24-3.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Slide24-3.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10189\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Slide24-3.png 600w, https:\/\/www.raziemah.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Slide24-3-300x200.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>1062 Uh-oh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once I do this, I gestalt the following.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If &#8220;gestalt&#8221; level<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Does a normal context of metaphysical reality<sub>3c<\/sub>&nbsp;bring the actuality of psychological reality<sub>2c<\/sub>&nbsp;into relation with the potential of &#8216;topographic reality&#8217;<sub>1c<\/sub>?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Surely, that looks well&#8230;
